…a very lively picture postcard

Eygalières, a charming village in the heart of the Alpilles, rightly contributes to the image of authenticity and elegance of this part of Provence.

Eygalières is a small, quiet village 5 minutes from Saint Rémy de Provence. The village is surrounded by the wonderful landscapes of the Alpilles and faces vast fields of olive trees, verdant valleys and vines. It offers the most symbolic views of Provence, such as the Saint-Sixte Chapel, built in the 11th century and perfectly suited to its setting. When you glimpse Eygalières, at the top of its small hill, you will experience a sudden desire to stop there. This desire will become irresistible as you get closer and see the houses which stretch out on the hill opposite the panoramic view. You will discover a charming village which has retained its authenticity. The beautiful old houses in the village are made of stone. They are cleverly aligned along the small winding streets and often reveal a trace of green, hinting at a small inner garden. The main street climbs up towards the old village. The Rue de l'Eglise will lead you to the ruins of the château, the esplanade of the old keep and Saint-Laurent Church. Eygalières has some wonderful restaurants and some charming terraces, allowing you to enjoy this unrivalled scenery for longer. Sit down, relax and let the magic do its work.

It is undoubtedly the authentic Provençal charm of the village and its incredible view over the Alpilles Massif which have led celebrities to spend time in Eygalières, from Michel Drucker to Patrick Sabatier, via Charles Aznavour, Alain Prost and Charlotte de Turckheim.
