This Tower was erected at the request of the Abbey of Montmajour, Pierre de Canillac, between 1348 and 1353. It is both a defensive and residential construction; although the tower was an important symbol of power and military strength in those times of war (the 14th and 15th centuries were punctuated with a series of conflicts, better known as the Hundred Years' War). It was combined with other constructions which housed the seigniorial residence and a ceremonial room where justice was administered.

Its name comes from the Mausoleum of Les Antiques. This former monastery near Les Antiques, which has been transformed into a health spa, still has its church and a Romanesque cloister which opens onto four barrel vaulted galleries. A large alley leads to this peaceful site, which is famous for having housed Van Gogh (1889-1890). The monastery also welcomed another famous guest, Doctor Schweitzer (1914 to 1918).

Saint Michel de Frigolet Abbey (12th-14th century), in the heart of the unspoilt landscape of La Montagnette, takes its name from the many thyme bushes ('ferigoulo' in Provençal) that dot the hills. In 1133, a community of St Augustine canons settled in Frigolet; the current heart of the monastery dates from this period - the cloister (early 12th century), Saint Michel Church (12th century) and the small Notre Dame du Bon Remède Chapel (11th century).

Four successive gates protected the only access to the village prior to 1632. To reach the Valley of la Fontaine, visitors can follow the gravel path of La Calade and pass through the Porte d'Eyguières or Porte de l'Eau (because it was through this gate that the water for the villagers arrived), which was the only entrance to the village until 1866. Rebuilt by the Constable of Montmorency, in the 18th century the gate was raised by the Prince of Monaco, who had received the Barony of Les Baux in 1643.

The first printing workshops for 'indiennes' fabrics were created in 1818 and were located in the former Capuchin convent; in 1820 they were transferred to a church by Mr Jourdan and Mr Quinche.

This is a Romanesque chapel originally dedicated to Saint Peter. In the 12th century, it became Notre Dame de l'Assomption and at the same time was given to the Arles Chapter. The site of Lansac, a tiny hamlet south of Tarascon, has been inhabited since Roman times, when the residents fled Ernaginum (now Saint Gabriel), where they had originally settled but which was pillaged by the Visigoths.
