This was originally known as the Chapelle des Pucelles or the Chapelle des Vierges. This chapel has, of course, paid the traditional homage to time and undergone a series of transformations which have made it even more interesting. Don't miss the relatively rudimentary bas-relief tympanum representing the theme of Adam and Eve, the serpent and the tree of life. Remarkably, the tree of life is represented by a fig tree.

In 1644, the decision was made to build a new consular house. Four years later, Tarascon Hôtel de Ville was born (Louis XIII style). The façade was inspired by examples in Arles and has a corbelled stone balcony and a niche which houses the statue of Saint Martha with the Tarasque. Tarascon Hôtel de Ville was considered a very fashionable building in the mid-17th century. The other characteristics, which include pelmets, plant-based sculptures and bouquets of acanthus on the façade and around the windows, are very sombre in style.

(formerly Hôtel du Roure) This mansion, built in the same style as the Parisian mansions of the time, has façades on which it is still possible to see all the particularly sophisticated original decoration, as well as most of its interior layout. From the street, visitors can admire the porch bearing the coat of arms of the Le Roure family, the three wings surrounding the courtyard, the décor of supporting wall ties on the ground floor and the elegance of the large windows. The L'Hauture district is the highest part of the town (altitude of 25 metres), the only rocky knoll on the surrounding alluvial plain. It was a major base for the urbanisation of the Roman colony and the current district still contains the remains of some of its structures, particularly the amphitheatre, theatre and ramparts. Furthermore, the remains of the first cathedral complex have been revealed on the south-east corner of the district.
