Built in 1909, this fountain pays tribute to the River Durance which flows to the north of Châteaurenard. Its inscription, 'Eici, l’aigo es d’or' (Here, water is gold) reveals the importance of this river, not only for the Châteaurenard region, but also for a large part of the Pays d'Arles. Its canalisation and distribution throughout the territory by means of a hydraulic network of small streams and canals allowed a flourishing fruit and vegetable production industry to develop on this arid or marshy land.

Joseph Désanat was born in Tarascon (1796-1874). He was courtier and then a charcuterie manufacturer in Marseille, where he practised a number of different professions. He founded and managed the newspaper 'Lou Biou-Abaisso' (The Bouillabaisse. 1841-1842 and 1844-1846). He was a pre-Mistral Félibre and both a journalist and a poet. He wrote at a time when Provençal spelling had not yet been fixed by the famous Maillane writer, and was only 16 when this work was edited.

Frédéric Mistral had his tomb built in 1907, before his death in 1914; it is a very faithful replica of the Pavillon de la Reine Jeanne in Les Baux-de-Provence. On the bell which sounded his death-knell and announced his loss, there is an engraving of a 1907 poem called 'Moun toumbéu' (My tomb'). It was engraved several days before his death and it was when Mistral went to admire the sculptor's work in the church that he caught a chill and died. Architectural description

This is a very attractive Oratory in the centre of Les Paluds de Noves. The Oratory was dedicated as a votive offering to Saint Roch, patron saint of plague victims; a traditional festival held on the first Sunday of September is dedicated to this saint. On this occasion, a 'carreto ramado' ('rowed chariot' in Provençal) parades through the hamlet of Les Paluds de Noves.

Located at the very place where the first residence in Noves was built, it was originally a simple hermitage for Observantine monks. The chapel nave, adjacent to the hermitage, was built in 1630 and extended in 1722 in accordance with the wishes of the inhabitants of Noves during the great Plague of 1720-1721. A pilgrimage linked to this wish still takes place today (first Saturday in September). The apse was built in 1832, followed by the narthex in the 19th century. The inside of the chapel can only be visited on Heritage Days.

The L'Hauture district is the highest part of the town (altitude of 25 metres), the only rocky knoll on the surrounding alluvial plain. It was a major base for the urbanisation of the Roman colony and the current district still contains the remains of some of its structures, particularly the amphitheatre, theatre and ramparts. Furthermore, the remains of the first cathedral complex have been revealed on the south-east corner of the district.

This altar was erected in 1794 by the people of Fontvieille, to symbolise their allegiance to their homeland. Men and women came in two different processions and left sprays of flowers and ears of wheat to demonstrate their fidelity. Located a few metres south of Daudet's Mill, it was knocked down to the bottom of the hill and then put back in place in 1935. It is an 80 cm wide cubic block, with a shallow square hollow on top. There is no décor or inscription on the stone.
