In 1644, the decision was made to build a new consular house. Four years later, Tarascon Hôtel de Ville was born (Louis XIII style). The façade was inspired by examples in Arles and has a corbelled stone balcony and a niche which houses the statue of Saint Martha with the Tarasque. Tarascon Hôtel de Ville was considered a very fashionable building in the mid-17th century. The other characteristics, which include pelmets, plant-based sculptures and bouquets of acanthus on the façade and around the windows, are very sombre in style.

Don't miss St Maxime Church with its 11th or 12th century Provençal Romanesque nave, its apse and Gothic-style northern side-aisle, as well as the two Romanesque chapels which form a pseudo-transept. The origin of the Chapel of Christ (a regional Historic Monument) is controversial; some authors believe it to be Paleo-Christian. It received the 'Ruban du Patrimoine' award in 2003.

The former Saint Louis Chapel, called a Church, was located near the Rhône; it was demolished in 1874 during the extension of the river banks. A building belonging to the Saint-Louis-du-Rhône company was used as a church before the construction of the current building. The church was built without a bell tower in 1907. The bell tower was built by the architect Daniel Collonge in 1996. The painted décors on the bell tower, dated 1997, were created by Jacqueline Chaudet.
