Actes Sud Cinemas (formerly 'Le Méjan Cinema') has been renovated and taken over new spaces in order to welcome the public and organise meetings with film teams. It now has three arthouse screens. The programme has strong links with the editorial policy of Actes Sud and promotes 'auteur cinema' - in VOST (in the original language with French subtitles), whatever the film's origin.

The Retro Museum is entirely dedicated to the reproduction of scenes from everyday life in the past. This nostalgic world can be accessed via the entrance to the La Crau Ecomuseum. André Avis is an enthusiastic collector. In 1987, in partnership with the Municipality, he decided to open a museum on the theme of old professions and tools. The museum has changed name since then, but its vocation remains the same, namely to preserve and pass on the memory of the Ancients to adults and primarily to children.

David Pinzòn, freeze frame... Or rather the image in sequence, because what interests David Pinzón, it is the birth of life through the image, the decomposition of the movement, the technical richness of the picture. If he chose the profession of the image, chemistry attempted it in the same way as those people that he admires such Edward Muybridge or Jules Marey, who put the image in the service of science and made them rise an art in its own right. Panoramic photo also excites him and his side kinematics, it develops itself new techniques of shots so that our vision grow.

The poet Frédéric Mistral (1830-1914) lived in Maillane, where he composed all his work; in 1904 he was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature. He was also the founder of the Félibrige association. The house where he lived from 1876 until his death on 25 March 1914 has retained the authentic look of Mistral's time, thanks to restoration work carried out from 1992 to 1995 by the Historic Monuments service. The house became a museum in 1944, following the death of Mme Mistral in 1943.

Jeanne de Quiqueran, Lady of Les Baux, was the wife of Honoré des Martins, governor of Les Baux de Provence and successor of Montmorency. Together with her sister, she built Quiqueran hospital between 1542 and 1583 in the upper part of town, near the old Saint Blaise Chapel. The hospital cared for ordinary patients, while Saint-André hospital, in the Valley, was transformed into a leprosarium. It was later renamed 'Hôtel Dieu et Charité des Baux' and remained open until 1787. It is a beautiful building with a remarkable colonnade on the first floor.

The first mention of bull-racing in Graveson was in July 1800. An enclosure surrounded by walls, partly within the courtyard of a privately-owned 18th century Mas, can be seen on the 1830 cadastral register. This enclosure is at the origin of the current amphitheatres. The amphitheatres have been renovated several times and were still private property in 1994. They were then managed by the Club Turin and maintained by the town hall, which took over their ownership shortly afterwards. Architectural description

In 1818, he joined with two Tarasconnais and created an Indian factory St Etienne du Grès, small Provençal village located at the foot of the Alpilles. Textiles are printed on the Board, washed and dried on the nearby meadow... The company then passes from hand to hand until 1948, date on which it is taken and transformed into company Avignonnaise print on fabrics (S.A.I.T) by Pierre Boudin.

Oriented East-West, the limestone the Alpilles, geological extension of the Luberon Mountains rises in the heart of Provence. By far, its jagged peaks, 300 m to 400 m above sea level, give the illusion of real mountains. They constitute a small limestone massif of 25 km long 6 to 8 km wide. Between Rhône and Durance, point sharply skyward a white mass with bluish reflections.Their chaotic topography is made more strange even by old stone farms. Since the Neolithic period trade routes borrow valleys and settlements are born at their junction, such as Les-Baux.
