The poet Frédéric Mistral (1830-1914) lived in Maillane, where he composed all his work; in 1904 he was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature. He was also the founder of the Félibrige association. The house where he lived from 1876 until his death on 25 March 1914 has retained the authentic look of Mistral's time, thanks to restoration work carried out from 1992 to 1995 by the Historic Monuments service. The house became a museum in 1944, following the death of Mme Mistral in 1943.

David Pinzòn, freeze frame... Or rather the image in sequence, because what interests David Pinzón, it is the birth of life through the image, the decomposition of the movement, the technical richness of the picture. If he chose the profession of the image, chemistry attempted it in the same way as those people that he admires such Edward Muybridge or Jules Marey, who put the image in the service of science and made them rise an art in its own right. Panoramic photo also excites him and his side kinematics, it develops itself new techniques of shots so that our vision grow.

Paint otherwise in Sandrine Christophle. The workshop took place in a former sheepfold, a local of a hundred square meters. This place, open and friendly, in addition to the space dedicated to work, you will find a sitting area where drink a tea or coffee or simply discuss. There is also what hang many paintings on the walls, and an upcoming exhibition or the next opening of an artist painter or artist cannot delay. I expected you for an internship or a simple visit to discover my paintings.

The Oratory of the Virgin, also called Oratory of the Saint or Notre Dame, commemorates the Marian Jubilee of 1851. It is dedicated to Our Lady of Hope and is a monumental building constructed in the 19th century. Its architecture resembles that of a small temple. It has a dressed stone plinth and square pillars with capitals which protrude at the corners; this is surmounted by a cornice supporting a high niche with a semi-circular opening, framed by beautiful columns with bases and capitals under a flat cornice roof.

The Hôtel de Luppé's astonishing façade, opposite the western tower of the amphitheatre, resembles a Florentine palace. Its successive owners evoke the past of several large Arles families and testify to their great contribution to domestic architecture in the town.. Although dating from the 17th century, the only part visible from the outside is the façade erected in the early 20th century by Gaston de Luppé, the artist, scholar and Italophile.

Opposite the majestic façade of the Hôtel de Manville was a large residence dated 1571 (known as the Logis de Brisson-Peyre); all that remains is a muntin window whose entablature bears the Calvinist inscription 'Post Tenebras Lux 1571' (Light After Darkness). This affirmation of Protestant faith suggests the existence of an oratory of reformed worship. The reformed religion had many supporters in Les Baux, thanks to the tolerance of the then Baron of Les Baux, Honoré des Martins.

The parish church is of 13th century Romanesque origin and was dedicated to Notre-Dame-de-Bethléem. It was replaced by the church of Saint Agatha, patron saint of the village. In the 17th century, the building was facing ruin; restoration work was started and later completed during a more extensive project in 1760. Worship had been banned at the church, as the building was judged too dangerous. A master mason from Tarascon built the chancel, sacristy, bell tower and two chapels (Sainte-Agathe and Sainte-Vierge).

It is a beautiful manor house with a Virgin in a corner niche and a sundial that Mistral installed in 1903: 'Gai lezert, bèu toun soulèu l’ouro passo que trop lèu e deman ploura belèu' 'Gay lizard, drink in the sun time passes too quickly and tomorrow it may rain'. This building has been listed as a national Historic Monument since 31 July 1930.

The Towers of Camargue, little of which remains on the ground, are nevertheless still present in the toponymy of the delta and in written sources. They were subject to the many fluctuations of the branches of the Rhône and their history also testifies to a range of different functions. The towers were originally defensive, and also acted as lighthouses for sailors, as visual communication aids ('farots'), and as a commercial surveillance post.
